The quick answer

LE-65 can occur during login or connection. Check official incident reports first, then verify game files and connection settings if no incident matches. Season 5 launch incidents do not establish that every present LE-65 is a server outage.

Work through the cause

  1. Check recent official maintenance and incident posts. Record when the error happened, the login stage and server region. If there is a matching incident, follow the recovery announcement and retry afterward.
  2. If there is no matching incident, use Steam’s Last Epoch → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files and check the installed update. The 1.5.1.1 announcement said deployment was underway; your Steam client determines what is installed.
  3. Official general connection troubleshooting includes selecting another server region on the login screen, correcting system time and allowing the game normally through local security software. Change one factor at a time and retry so you can identify what helped. Disabling the entire firewall is not required here.
  4. If it still fails, contact official Support with the error code, time, ISP, selected region and Player.log. You can submit a ticket even if you cannot reach the login screen. Do not post private logs publicly.

Confirm recovery

Recovery means logging in with your character and loading a game area, not merely dismissing the error message. These are conditional official troubleshooting steps; no LE-65-specific success rate or guaranteed server-side repair is claimed.
