The quick answer

This Static Orb Sorcerer setup is for a character with its core gear and a sustainable mana pool. It uses Static Orb for lightning damage and Focus for recovery. Treat it as a gear-dependent transition, not an unequipped campaign starter or a guaranteed damage record.

Skills and important nodes

Skill Configuration and limitation
Static Orb Keep Static Orb as a lightning skill rather than taking Biting Force’s cold conversion. Manacharged scales damage with maximum mana while increasing cost. Overcharged Detonation makes it explode on hit and adds hit damage based on mana cost. Forking Surge adds tentacles for clearing.
Focus 1 Null Profusion + 4 Null Infusion instantly restores 20% + 4 × 5% = 40% of maximum mana when used at negative mana. The nodes add cooldown; reach their prerequisite paths first.
Flame Rush With 1 point in Beta Decay, Flame Rush triggers Static Orb in the opposite direction and consumes 80% of Static Orb’s mana cost. It is not free.
Flame Ward Defensive skill; do not confuse it with Flame Rush.
Arcane Ascendance An optional burst tool in Lizard IRL’s boss setup. Frost Wall is another optional choice; the main resource loop does not depend on this slot.

Flame Rush belongs to the Runemaster branch and is listed as a Runemaster Level 5 Skill. A Sorcerer must check the branch’s actual unlock requirements in the skill window before copying specialization nodes.

Gear-dependent clearing setup

Slot Item or target Why it matters
Weapon Triboelectra, a level-45 Wand Supports lightning skill levels and extra tentacles. Evade triggers Static Orb at 90% of its mana cost; without mana, it does not trigger.
Helmet Vilatria’s Storm Crown With Legends Entwined it forms the two-piece Vilatria set for 1 added lightning spell damage per 2 Intelligence. Vilatria’s Downfall is not also required for that combination.
Ring Legends Entwined, level 42 A Primordial ring that counts toward every equipped set, with rewards for completed sets. Only one Primordial item of any kind can be equipped.
Gloves Lich’s Envy, level 64 Forms another completed set with the same ring, primarily for the ring’s additional completed-set benefit.
Boots Transient Rest, level 52 Grants Ward based on current mana when you stop moving, with a two-second cooldown. Large Ward at negative mana is not guaranteed.
Other gear and idols Maximum mana, Intelligence, resistances and survival Establish resource recovery and defenses before pushing cast speed. This guide does not specify a minimum mana threshold.

Level 64 is an equipment threshold, not proof that every level-64 character can sustain the setup. Without Legends Entwined, the two completed-set combinations above do not work as described.

Mad Alchemist’s Ladle is a different weapon option whose spell damage increases with negative ailments on the target. It does not preserve Triboelectra’s Evade trigger. Red Ring, Uber-specific items and Death Dance are optional upgrades rather than requirements for this clearing direction.

Run the resource loop

  1. Use Flame Rush to reposition, cast Static Orb for clearing and use Evade for extra orbs while Triboelectra is equipped. Reserve Flame Ward for danger.
  2. At negative mana, use Focus to activate the instant-recovery nodes. The 40% is of maximum mana, not 40% of the negative amount. Further channeling uses Focus’s own recovery behavior; Lizard IRL’s example of roughly 1,500 mana recovered is not a universal result.
  3. Wait for Focus to become available again before another high-cost sequence. If it is still on cooldown when resources fail, reduce consecutive casts and adjust mana, recovery and cooldown conditions instead of stacking more cast speed.
  4. If you use Arcane Ascendance for burst damage, keep using your defensive and recovery skills. A clearing setup is not automatically an Uber damage-window setup.

The 1.5 skill changes list 150% initial-hit and 300% explosion added damage effectiveness. Those fields are not final DPS or proof of a best build.
